Initial PETE Standard 3

Standard 3: Planning and Instruction

Physical education teacher candidates plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with local state, and national standards to address the diverse needs of all students.

In EDU 255 Basics of Effective Instruction in Physical Education, Greg was required to create and instruct 3 different lessons involving physical activity. Lab D was the last lab of the course where Greg taught using the IDance System.  This lesson was not about teaching kids how to play a game, but was about how to use new tools in a physical education environment. PETE Standard 3 addressed in this situation and is shown here by his lesson plan and activity progression sheet

In EDU 255: Basics of Effective Instruction in Physical Education, Greg completed a scope and sequence chart for his IDance Lab.  This chart shows how IDance can be taught in each grade and how each grade should progress through each grade (K-12) while using this tool. IDance is a great new tool and this chart shows how it can be used for all age levels.
